Poker Academy Review

As the World is in the grasp of Poker Fever, especially Texas Holdem, you will notice that it is everywhere, TV, Internet Cafes, Casinos, Magazines ect.

With the choices around via the Internet it is now easy to learn how to play Texas Holdem, they are now even tools and software programs that can help you improve your game style and techniques.

Many people learn by making mistakes, going to the Casino or playing via the Internet on Poker sites, how ever this can be costly if you start off playing for real money.

You of course can play for Play mode/Demo Money but this is not Real Poker and players do not play the same, they take more risks and have no strategy as they know once the play money chips are finished they will get a refill of another 1000 chips.

You could even buy a few books or watch some DVDs on how to play, again though this will only teach you so much; we find the best option is Poker Software programs.

Poker Academy Professional 2.0 or Poker Academy Prospector ( the next generation) With instruction and analysis that can help players ranging from the greenest beginner to a seasoned casino player, Poker Academy allows players of any level practice and improve their game.

For beginners, Poker Academy Professional 2.0 or Poker Academy Prospector includes a Texas Hold Em Tutorial that begins at the beginning lessons of the game.

It is easy to download and install and most Poker sites support it.

There is a demo version or you can purchase the program for $85.

There is a nice tutorial for beginners that show you the basics of the game, the rules of Poker, Hand Rankings, how the blinds work, to the importance of position and bankroll.

For both Limit and No-Limit Poker in the Ring games, there are beginner to advanced tables, full ring games, short-handed tables and heads up matches.

From here you choose what stakes you wish to duplicate, the starting bankrolls are, and House Rules you wish to play.

Please note that the House Rake is the same as Land Based Casino Rules , many Poker sites also have their own rake rules such as Poker Stars and Party Poker.

Once the table settings are complete there are even more options available to you, these include the competition at the tables.

From the menu option on the play screen, you can edit each individual player’s characteristics with your dialog:

You have a choice of preset tables to mimic variables from low-limit style play to higher limits, from 6-Max to full ring games.

Tournament options as shown in the screen shot above include Single and Multiple game tables using rules from popular online poker rooms, WPT style tournaments and even the World Series of Poker Main Event.

The tournament games section gives you opportunity to duplicate real tournament situations; this allows you to gain and expertise your tournament experience and technique without purchasing the buy-ins.

Throughout every hand of every game, the Poker Academy Professional Advisor is there to give advice on each hand. You will find him on the middle right hand side.

This is just one of many options for you when you use the Poker Academy Professional 2.0 or Poker Academy Prospector

once playing has finished you can examine your play using the included Player Statistics analysis tool.

This provides you with lots of stats and graphs on your play. This helps you to analyze your play in simulated conditions without losing a cent.

If the analysis tools of Poker Academy Professional are not enough, gathered statistics can be exported to Poker Tracker for further analysis.

Also included is the Poker Academy Professional Hand Evaluator, this is a great option, it will provide you with statistics on any possible hand combination, including drawing odds, possible hands along with the likelihood of hitting those hands.

All you need to do is click on the cards and select which ones you wish to gather statistics on, once you have selected the cards you wish to get data on; the software gathers all possible odds and shows them in the graph as pictured above.

There is also the Showdown Calculator, you choose your cards that you wish to gather statistics on and the show down calculator will show you the stats for that hand.

It can simulate up to five million instances of a certain competition’s outcome. It can also enumerate the total number of possible outcomes of any situation.

This software is good, you can create your own tables, your play, players, custom name and save them, and you can even export them to programs like Poker tracker and import settings to share with other users.
